My Peace Corps Motivation Application

The Peace Corps represents in a lot of ways me trying to fight against the growing sense that the world I live in crumbling around me. We live on an enormous organic spaceship that is composed of wondrous natural environment’s, diverse and fascinating cultures, and gorgeous human settlements. However, as I have looked further into the workings of this planet, I have been confronted by the fact that there is an uncountable amount of terrible things being done to the people, environment’s, and wildlife that perpetuates over and over again. Given this grim reality, I have taken it upon myself to dedicate my life to trying to help insert positivity and good vibes into my surroundings, and I feel that applying for the Peace Corps is me taking a leap into exponentially growing that process. I fight not just for environmental balance, or for the injustices done to the innocent, but to balance the scales of existence itself. Regardless of where I go, or what I do, I will fight tooth and nail to ensure that goodness comes from my involvement, both in attitude and effort. The world has too many people who are complicit in not getting involved in trying to make the world better. I wish to be a part of the movement that sees that and moves the other way. I don’t just evaluate the paths by the amount of people traveling by them, I go off the road and find my own unique way. I don’t just settle, I push to progress and create better situations. If confronted by adversity, I don’t just mindless rush into the battle. Rather I evaluate and find the best possible, nonviolent route that leads to the greatest possible amount of good will and benefit. When I run into a wall, I don’t just go around, climb over, or knock it down. I find out why that wall was built in the first place, and put efforts into ensuring that the significance is respected, and its effects are mitigated to those who suffer the effects the strongest. The structure of this world was not made to just be arbitrarily broken down and chaotically undermined, but to be carefully and peacefully changed until every possible version of sentient being can exist peacefully and happily on this world. I love everyone that has ever existed. It sounds far-fetched and unrealistic, but I feel that until you can fully appreciate every version of consciousness and feeling that exists, you are farther away from understanding yourself that you could ever realize. To the person reading this, yes, this includes you. This statement includes every person that you have met today, those who you know, and those you don’t. I want to use this love to help others, and if I didn’t put efforts like this into my life than this ability would be wasted, in my opinion.

Anyway, thank you. I hope you consider my application with the seriousness that I put into writing it.

Balance

A terrifying concept, balance implies that the basic structure of this world includes every single action, regardless of the moral considerations, to be a part of a greater mechanism that pushes existence forward.

That means everything, from the shittiest possible action to the most glorious example of humanity in progress is equal in this crazy world.

For every rain forest that is deteriorating in the face of rampant capitalism, there is a equal and opposite reaction that plays out in response.

Everything is just a pattern, smaller iterations within a constantly evolving and consistently adapting conglomeration of different advanced forms of energy.

I guess I need to expound upon this. Everything you see around you, from the dirt on ground (ain’t that redundant), to the nuclear silos that power houses around America, are apart of a greater formation of energy that has metabolized into physical form. Atoms are all moving, vibrating within their own small and inconsequential dimensions to allow these shapes/forms to maintain themselves. We are the physical manifestation of this energy, which has changed and adapted and morphed until it has reached a form that can become self aware and question the nature of our own existence. Your body is the living manifestation of the basic structure of the universe, change through the movement of energy.

There is a consistency to how the universe works. Seeming insurmountable in its mechanization, yet upon delving into the raw data that composes of these processes, the simplicity of its design is remarkable.

“So what’s holding everything together? Why doesn’t the universe just stop vibrating at these frequencies?”

Once set in motion, the cycle of energy transfer that exists is the most probable reason. In the bigger picture of existence, the system that has been created is literally the ultimate hippy, recycling everything over and over into itself. If you think about everything being a compounding pattern, regardless of size, it is easier to comprehend. It’s all one big circle of energy, the snake eating its own tail.

I have examples.

Example.

A human dies.

Boo hoo.

In that moment of death, their body is set upon by millions upon millions of microbes that utilize their naturally evolved tools to consume the body, transferring its energy back into the world around it. It’s the circle of life, and god damn is it beautiful.

Example.

A song makes you happy. The vibrations transmit through your eardrums and create a feeling of joy as you go about the rest of your day. Your joy influences your actions, which creates a positive association with your actions. Your positive action is felt by all those around you, which helps stimulate their energy levels/their emotional state. All of a sudden, the energy that was initially emitted by a machine has transcended into the intangible realm, and is affecting people in the physical world.

There are some mathematical components to support this, such as the eternally spiraling pattern that Fibonacci’s number entails.  (Fibbonacci Number)

So what does this all mean for balance? Simply put, don’t worry about things going down the shitter. We are all moving gradually forward along a pattern that has been spiraling since the beginning of energy transference. There will always be negativity, something to fight against and live in balance with. Eternity does not let petty squabbles interfere with the ultimate progression that this entails, as the negativity is an additional guide in the whole process. You need negativity to have positivity, and vice versa. Without one, the other would just be the only state, and the lack of contrast leads the possibilities into a further existential unknown.

If needed, we reset and learn how we can avoid the pitfalls of the past.

If not, there is always going to be other options on progression with sentience and evolution.

Our role in all of this is to just exist on the terms that we want. If we want to constantly be at war with everything, that is our end result.

Learn, grow and expand your conscious in this physically manifested world of our own creation.

It is all a part of the process, after all.

BACON!!!!?!

bigbacon

Bacon. Seems too good to be true. Fried meaty goodness with a rich, fatty taste. This is along with going great with pretty much any food. However, within this fantastic trend in the cooking scene, I see a couple problems. In fact, you could say that the entire concept of bacon is a metaphor for how the adult world is. In order to make this understood, we have to review a couple facts about bacon.

  1. Bacon has many different types. There is not “one” kind of bacon.
  2. People have claimed the concept of bacon as something integral to their own identity, within their own specific subgroup.
  3. Bacon is damn delicious, but it is not for everyone.

For this specific example, the subgroup that has “claimed” bacon is the generalized concept of men. Bacon has permeated every aspect of interest, from adding it to every food in the freaking world, to unnecessarily flavoring specific foods (Chocolate, tea, ect) with the taste. Bacon is seen as an inherently masculine food, that is the fact of the matter. However, in doing this, it ruins the ability to fully enjoy and adopt it within other subgroups because of the aggressive stereotyping and embracing of consistent stagnation in individuals mindsets/personalities.

These statements sound bad, and easy to dismiss as a stereotype of a gender, but lets look closer before making any snap judgments, ok?

By having one group completely hijack the concept of a commonly enjoyed substance/idea, you restrict the evolution and layered complexity that other mindsets/cultures would add to it. By claiming it, you are in a sense creating a threatening precedent that other, less aggressive types of people would feel unable to enter/add to.

“But bacon isn’t just for men right? Everyone eats bacon and enjoys it!”

Sounds true, and mostly is. However, by restricting the idea of what bacon could represent, you indirectly create the idea that bacon can only be that. Doesn’t matter that everyone enjoys bacon. They are only enjoying the way that you enjoy bacon.

“You are generalizing gender here. There are men who don’t enjoy it.”

That is true, but we are not talking about those men. We are talking about the voice of masculinity that is emitted in America. It is a culmination of many voices into one, and is something that is widely accepted as the “male” standard.

A good comparison on the other side of the table is the pumpkin spice phenomenon, which has formed in a similar fashion, albeit more in reaction to the culture associated with bacon.

This comparison is simple. Men have bacon, women have pumpkin spice.

The fact that men make comments about the feminine enjoyment of the flavor is only kindling in the fire in regards to how this affects both sides. Bacon is a one sided, male driven food, while at the same time the enjoyment of “female” driven products are perceived to be anti-male and effeminate, a concept that male culture tends to dismiss and look down upon.  However, what happens when a substance/concept is actually interesting and/or tasty, though embracing it is unattainable due to the fear of being shamed?

Conflict and unhappiness. Both sides with try to enjoy the thing controlled by the other group, and both will have less enjoyment because of the inability to adopt it within their own culture. The ability to add onto the thing with their own specific mindset/style would in the end only diversify and progress it in a different way.

Bacon is beautiful. Pumpkin spice is beautiful. Ideas are beautiful. Wikipedia pages are beautiful.

Lets stop restricting the advancement of cultures, and embrace that everyone has something unique and interesting to add to them.

NEW! LONG ASS POSTS?

SO yea, recently I decided to actually take the next step and post a story that I am currently working on. In addition, you might also notice a beautiful picture of me, combined with the awesome forces of resume power.

If this is relevant to you, enjoy!

If not, I apologize that you now have to scroll down 30 years to see any of my older posts.

Anyway, I am going to post a link to this site on Facebook.

Hell yea.

Peace out.

Life and 42

Dear Reader,

Ever felt like everything in the world, every factor around you came together to make something happen. Something that feels purposeful, though its existence is through mere coincidence. If you have, things are starting to open up to you that are beyond calculation.

Anyway.

I have always wondered what the significance 42 had, concerning the fictional science fiction novel that was written by Douglas Adams.

Yea I am talking about The Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy.

If you haven’t checked it out previously, you should most definitely take a moment in your life and pick the series up. Nothing beats an afternoon staring off into concepts and imaginings that are beyond the human scope. Especially when its coupled with a fair amount of wit. Douglas Adams was also involved with Monty Python, if the previous comments were not enough to persuade you.

SO, on the topic of staring off into the void, I have decided to start living life like I am a organic being, riding on an enormous organic spaceship, rocketing through the unknown at an incomprehensible speed.

The sense of a different perspective is quite intoxicating.

It’s been a while…

I would like to apologize. Things have happened recently that have made it difficult to post on this site. Which brings up the question…

If an apology is said and no one is around to hear it, does it matter?

Honestly, half of the acceptance when someone is need of apologizing for something is actually coming from them. People act differently when have done something wrong, varying from person to person. Some people immediately forget, don’t really care but have it burn in the back of their mind. Some people can’t help feeling bad from the first moment that they comprehended what they did. Some people don’t feel anything at all.

The first step to apologizing to someone is apologizing to yourself.

In the end, you hurt yourself in addition to hurting that other person. You took someone else situation and made it worse, but in addition to that, you created a perspective. An alternate point of view that sees you as an asshole, a monster. That person, in one way, sees you as that. That perspective can spread, can be told and understood by others. This happens until everyone who cares about the person has their perspective changed, at least until you redeem yourself in their eyes. Literally, one action by you caused your entire world to change for the worse, and that is why you must apologize and understand what you did. You screwed yourself over.

Obviously, once you understand that what you did was a mistake, and that you will make every attempt to curb your urge to make it again, you are already halfway to solving the entire issue. Talking to the person after making this internal agreement solidifies what you taught yourself to not do/act.

It’s human nature in a nutshell. Actions or things we do not enjoy having in our own life are cast aside, slowly but surely, until all that is left is what we accept. We treat these negatives like viruses, weeding them out over the entirety of our entire lives.

Taking a step back and watching this unfold as a gigantic process encompassing all of human creation, its pretty enlightening.

It’s that time of year again….

Spring. The air around me is a alight with the gentle rustle of the trees, beautiful bird flutes whistling and flitting, a slight current of cool air flowing past ones chin. My cat, jet black in fur and sleek in step, sits quietly beside you. She observes the flowing stars of life in the trees and bushes around her. The branches gently shake, sending small flurries of leaves tumbling down upon the fertile earth. One wonders what another species or denizen from another dimension would see and comprehend from this scene. Would they see leaves like we see snow? The grass spotted ground as a wasteland without the necessary volatile chemicals necessary for their own survival? A twisted, alien landscape without minds nor means? Who knows.
Was just sitting here and wanted to share this beautiful afternoon with you all. Go outside and bath in the wonders of this world.

The War on Imagination

By me

Once upon a time, there was a day on our earth

When the children of our world went through a rebirth

Children, with delight, found out they could write

Anything that they liked, from their minds straight to life

They drew dragons and candy and things of that nature

And all of the adults stood in awe at their grandeur

Till one adult said, with a shake of his head

“This is crazy, unnatural, we must stop it.”

“Children are naive, with all the things that they believe.”

“In our world dreams don’t come true and we know it.”

So the adults, oh they yelled

But to their dismay, the children rebelled

And the adults looked again for guidance

“What can we do, even if this evil is true.”

“The children, they are too strong, even if they are wrong.”

But the man shook his head, and with a quiet voice said

“If a child is naughty do we not spank them.”

So the adults went to war, fighting for the opportunity to restore

The balance that existed before

But as the adults destroyed their creations

the children united as a nation

and fought against the people that they once showered with adoration

The war, it was bloody

The battlefields were muddy

With the corpses of those fallen widely spanned

All because one adult said, without peace in his head

To destroy all that he didn’t understand.
